Caroline Michelle Textile Art is a community for textile enthusiasts of all levels to come together and learn about Freemotion Embroidery. As a dedicated textile artist and instructor, I have a passion for helping students develop their talents and skills while at the same time expressing their creativity. When attending one of my workshops, you’ll learn a range of techniques to create stunning embroidered patterns and designs, while also connecting with fellow textiles enthusiasts. 12.09.26 3Dimensional Freemotion and Applique Embroidery Hoop Art (Devon Workshop)
Enjoy creating 3 Dimensional freemotion embroidery designs in this workshop. You will learn how to develop your basic raw edge applique skills and take them to the next level! This workshop is ideally suited if you have already completed the beginners class or have tried the technique before. With a variety of designs to choose from at different skill levels, this in-depth class covers everything you need to know to make your artwork really pop out from your finished framed hoop design. You will be guided through each step carefully and methodically to successfully transfer your chosen image into a lovely finished picture. It’s a great way to use up all those fabric scraps you have been saving at home.

17.09.26 Wreath Making Workshop (North Somerset Workshop)
Develop your freemotion embroidery skills in this creative workshop producing your very own personalised Textile Art wreath. This in-depth workshop is ideal for those who have already learnt the basics of freemotion as well as those who are more experienced in the technique.
Throughout the workshop you will be guided through all the steps to create each individual element of your wreath, with a range of original motifs and designs to choose from including Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Christmas themes. Personalise your wreath to suit your own liking with colours and fabrics to suit your own taste, you can give your wreath a truly unique feel. The workshop will be full of top tips and handy advice to get the most out of the processes and you’ll learn how to develop your basic skills to create a lovely finished artwork for your home.

10.10.26 Native Wildlife Textile Hearts (Cornwall Workshop)
Choose between three beautiful Native wildlife Textile hearts in this lovely follow on freemotion embroidery workshop. With full templates supplied, the process of creating your artwork is broken down into easy step by step instructions throughout the day. This workshop is perfect for those who have some experience of freemotion embroidery and applique or who have previously completed the beginners freemotion embroidery and applique workshop. You will be taught all the skills needed to make the most out of this fantastic technique and leave the workshop with the knowledge and ability to continue with your own designs in the future, bring along your own choice of fabrics to create a piece that suits your own taste, (heart measures approximately 18x23cm).

19.10.26 Freemotion Embroidery Layered Pictures (Cornwall Workshop) Brand New Venue – Cornish Craft Barn, Blackwater, Truro
Enjoy a lovely day developing your freemotion embroidery and raw edge applique skills in this follow-on freemotion workshop. This class is aimed at those who have either completed the basic workshop or had a go at freemotion embroidery before. In this workshop you will have 4 cute designs to choose from with the scope to begin a second design that can be completed at home. Throughout the day you will be taught the skills and techniques required to turn your chosen design into a layered picture with cute little 3D elements, all framed nicely in a rustic mount with coordinating hanging loop.

23.10.26 Freemotion Embroidery – Christmas Crafts (Devon Workshop)
A fabulously festive freemotion embroidery workshop suitable for those who have learned the basics of freemotion embroidery and wish to progress their skills further by producing some lovely festive creations. You may wish to focus on producing some gorgeous Christmas cards or some fun and festive Christmas decorations or a little of both, it’s up to you! Whichever you choose you will go home with some lovely handmade items perfect for decorating your home or to be given away as gifts. During this workshop you will be guided through the processes carefully and methodically with in depth tutorials, as well as having a range of original designs to choose from, with lots of hints and tips to help you produce your very own festive artworks. The class covers image transfer, mirror imaging and freemotion text. It’s a great way to use up all those fabric scraps you have been saving at home. You will be taught all the skills needed to make the most out of this fantastic technique and leave the workshop with the knowledge and ability to continue with your own designs in the future.

13.11.26 Introduction to Freemotion Embroidery and Applique (Cornwall Workshop)
This workshop is a great opportunity to learn the art of freemotion embroidery, at a beginner’s level. You will enjoy the freedom of drawing with your machine to create your own artwork. This in-depth beginner’s class covers everything you need to know to learn this addictive technique, from setting up your machine and what equipment you will need, to top tips and handy advice to get the most out of this wonderfully creative technique. Throughout the day you will be taught the skills and techniques required, by producing several small samples, growing in confidence as you become more skilled at the technique. Ending the day by producing a lovely piece of freemotion artwork using the raw edge applique technique.

14.11.26 Tealight lanterns (Cornwall Workshop)
In this lovely workshop you will create a beautiful freemotion embroidery lantern. With a choice of 3 designs, you will be guided throughout the day with each step thoroughly explained to produce your finished piece. The class focuses on the technique of raw edge applique and is suited to those who have already completed the beginners class or have experience in the technique before. It’s a great way to use up all those fabric scraps you have been saving at home and to further your skills along the way. The designs are prepared and created so that parts of each design show little glimpses of light through cut out areas, giving the finished piece a really lovely cosy feel.
